Am so pleased to be singing with the singular Grammy-winning Los Angeles Chamber Singers this weekend, honored to be a part of the sextet presenting CRAZY LOVE, one of two programs on the LACS Spring Festival. Last show is tonight in Hermosa Beach at St. John Cross Episcopal Church, 8pm. The festival will continue next week with the septet presenting the KALEIDOSCOPE program.
This summer the Hollywood Bowl is in full swing, am looking forward to being onstage with Gustavo Dudamel for his debut conducting Aida, as well as a superstar solo quartet for Verdi Requiem, and one of my favorite pieces of all time, Mahler's Resurrection Symphony #2. Ravinia festival in August/ September involving our solo quartet presenting David Lang's the little match girl passion (August 26, Chicago) is right around the corner as well, as well as a reprise in September of John Adams' The Gospel According to the Other Mary (September 7).
As of now we are contracted for the 2013-14 season, and there is much to look forward to! For starters, LA Master Chorale is celebrating their 50th season, so every concert is going to be celebratory. LA Philharmonic is continuing to program more and more involving voices, including a Zappa premiere, Philip Glass, and other projects. Still am basking in the glow of our 2013 John Adams Europe/ New York tour, the Phil blog is here. Finally, I'm pleased to be singing with LA Opera in Carmen, starring my dear teacher Milena Kitic as Carmen, and Thais, starring our artistic director Placido Domingo.
